Introduction to Epoch

This blog is for me to be able to record the lore and history of Epoch, a world with a powerful influx of magical energy and a caustic political climate, as well as vast oceans unexplored and dense wilderness untouched by civilization.

In reality, Time flows like a river, and Space is, we know this to be fact. In Epoch, however, that theory takes a dive. In Epoch, Space flows and Time is woven like a web. With no definite depiction of 'now', Epoch is designed to be a collective of historical records and events, as recorded by the many civilizations as they witness them.

Legends, History, Mythology, and Events is as important in Epoch as the minutes on the clock are to us. Thus, the history is recorded upon many various forms, running from being written in books and codices to tales and superstitions scrimshawed (carved) on ivory tusk.

History is presented as Chapters in many different series of recordings from many different societal viewpoints. And each civilized account is different, numbered differently, named strangely, ordered or recorded in unique ways, and never start or end at the same event, thus trying to gain a perception of time from history is hopeless, as every account of every individual event is merely relevant to the next viewpoint...

This is an extremely ambitious project, with a goal of having a truly expansive and encompassing lore and history, fan contributions are encouraged. Send in your campaign logs and your ideas for review. At this early stage in Epoch, when the world is young, yet imperceptibly ageless and still ever-growing, you just might find yourself immortalized in the endless tomes and tales of the Epoch legends.
I can't begin to thank my amazing friends enough for lending their time and interest and talents to this project. Without their support I would not be able to bring this world from behind my eyes to behind your screen. I hope that you the reader, find as much enjoyment reading the lore and participating in the legends of Epoch either based upon the written history or as a new campaign. Thank you to my friends. and thank you to, well, YOU!!
- Sincerely, Mason Brown
